• Have a conversation to hear your vision. This can be in person (if you are local to San Francisco), on Face Time or zoom, or just over the phone. 
  
• Determine whether the silver plated object, will be provide by you, or will come from a selection that I provide based on your space and budget. 
• You tell me what kind of bird you would like depicted. Many people feel connected to specific species.
• I will issue you an invoice for the total amount we agree on (plus shipping) and you will pay a 50% deposit. (Prices usually range from $250-$1,200 depending on size and complexity of the painting, and whether the silver piece comes from you or me). 
  
• When I receive your deposit, I will show you the photo that I would like to work from and do a sketch of how the bird or birds will be laid out on the object for your approval. 
  
• I make the final painting (which will be ready to hang) and send you a picture via email for your final approval.
  
• Once you are 100% happy with the art, you will pay the balance due and I will ship the painting to you. 

ABSTRACTS AND OTHER COMMISSIONS:

• For abstract commissions we will determine very clearly exactly what look you are after. This will involve looking at source images from the internet. I am happy and able to work in any style, but will never duplicate another artist's work. This process is ideal for art directors looking for art with a cleared copyright for a photo shoot. It has also lead me to create some wonderful paintings for very satisfied private collectors.
• Working within your budget, we will determine and agree upon the final size of the painting, the type of canvas, and the color pallet you desire. 
• I will issue you an invoice for the total amount we agree on (plus shipping) and you will pay a 50% deposit. 
• When I receive your deposit, I will create the artwork.
  
• I send you a picture for your final approval and you can let me know if you are satisfied or would like some minor changes. 
• Once you are 100% happy with the art, you will pay the balance due and I will ship the painting to you.

PORTRAITS:

• Have a conversation to hear your vision. This can be in person (if you are local to San Francisco), on Face Time or zoom, or just over the phone.
• I create portraits on canvas from photographs of the subject. The quality of the photograph is important, which means photos with good focus and lighting are the best! The more visual information I have to work with the better. That being said, I have made successful paintings for clients from old snapshots and vintage photos. 
• Working within your budget, we will discuss and agree upon the final size and depth of the painting, any changes to be made from the photo, and any other relevant details. I often replace the background behind and around the main subject with a simpler painted background. This puts an emphasis on the loved ones face.
• I will issue you an invoice for the total amount we agree on (plus shipping) and you will pay a 50% deposit. 
  
• I send you a picture for your final approval and you can let me know if you are satisfied or would like some minor changes. 
  
• Once you are 100% happy with the art, you will pay the balance due and I will ship the painting to you.
